Dampen a soft cloth or sponge with white vinegar or a mild detergent. Wipe around the washer ring, paying extra attention to the folds and crevices where mold and mildew are prone to accumulate.

I use one of the Oxi Clean packets once a month and just use the reminders app to remind me to do it. The vinegar and hot water method below is great but I feel like the grains of the Oxi Clean one do a little scrubbing while they’re in there too.

Once the manual cleaning is done, remove any debris from the drum and run an empty wash cycle. Use hot water and add 2 cups of white vinegar to the detergent dispenser. This will help disinfect and deodorize the entire drum and the washer ring.

After the cycle, wipe down the washer ring with a dry cloth. Ensure it's completely dry to prevent new mold from forming.

Step 6: Keep It Dry
